Paulina Flores Jimenez

“I serve because, just like Gandhi, I know I must be the change I want to see in the world.”

Paulina Flores Jimenez, of Paso Robles, is a senior majoring in Public Health and Chicano Studies with a certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies. Paulina has a passion for helping others and getting involved in the community, even if it means getting down and dirty. Since attending Fresno State, Paulina has been involved in several service projects.  In the spring of 2010 she was a participant on the Fresno Street Saints Alternative Spring Break Team, working with Southwest Fresno youth.  In 2011, Paulina returned to facilitate the program as Team Leader for the Alluvial Community Garden Alternative Spring Break Team.  In the past Paulina has lent a hand at the Bulldog Pantry and served as a Fresno READS mentor, tutoring elementary school children in reading and math.  This year Paulina will begin working on Fresno State’s Humanics Certificate in Nonprofit Administration and Leadership.  Upon getting her bachelor’s degree, Paulina plans to continue on with her education and attend graduate school.
