Song Vang

“No matter how tired or stressed out I am, volunteering and doing service is the best medicine for me!  It is so rewarding knowing that what I am doing is making a change in my community and in the lives of others. What more can I ask for?”

Song Vang is a senior majoring in Deaf Education and Linguistics with certificates in Nonprofit Management and Leadership through the American Humanics program and the Co-Curricular Leadership Certificate. While attending Fresno State, Song has had the privilege of volunteering for such organizations as the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Center Inc., the American English Institute, the Fresno Street Saints, and the Sierra Foothill Conservancy. In 2011, Song served as a Team Leader for Alternative Spring Break and had a successful year planning Celebration of Diversity. In addition to being a Richter Center Ambassador, Song is a student member of the Service-Learning Subcommittee of the Academic Senate, the Chair of Amerasia, and is learning to become an effective Richter Center Reflection Facilitator.
